Ukraine sees reduction in deficit of foreign trade balance in Q1

The deficit of Ukraine's balance of foreign trade in January-March 2016 (Q1) amounted to $89.1 million against a $660 million deficit in the same period last year, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

As reported, imports of goods and services in Ukraine, excluding services provided on a tolling basis, decreased by 9.1%, to $9.777 billion. Exports of goods and services from Ukraine declined by 15.1%, to $9.688 billion.

The data is presented excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine in 2015 saw a surplus of foreign trade balance, which stood at $4.065 billion, being 21.1%, or $709 million, up on a surplus of $3.365 billion recorded in 2014.
