Imports of commercial and special vehicles in Ukraine in January-March 2016 increased twofold to 5,919 units, as compared to the same period last year.
According to Ukraine's association of car producers Ukravtoprom, the total customs value of the imported vehicles amounted to $65.5 million. Vehicles with mileage accounted for 93% of imports, compared to last year’s figure of 83%.
Imports of buses worth a total of $2.7 million amounted to 189 units in the first quarter, an increase of 61% year-over-year. Vehicles with zero mileage accounted for 9% in this import segment, which was higher by 3 percentage points than in the same period last year.

According to Ukravtoprom, last year import of passenger cars in Ukraine dropped by 41% to 86,492 units, and was worth more than $1 billion. At this, Ukraine exported only 1,060 vehicles in that period, lower by 3.1 times than in the previous year. In monetary terms, exports amounted to $54.4 million.
