"It is necessary to accelerate rather than decelerate the development of hydropower generation," Groysman said while visiting the Dniester pumped storage power station in Chernivtsi region.

During the visit, he attended the official ceremony of the launch of three hydroelectric units that were connected to the country's integrated power grids.

Groysman also visited a turbine room at the station, examined progress in building the fourth hydroelectric unit and talked with the personnel of the power station. "Ukraine's energy independence is in your hands," he told them.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian prime minister was on a working visit to Chernivtsi region on June 10.
