PrivatBank has become the only Ukrainian bank that has been named one of the world's largest banks according to the prestigious Top 1000 World Banks 2016 ranking published annually by The Banker, an English-language monthly international financial affairs publication.
It is noted that despite Ukraine's economic hardships, PrivatBank remains the largest bank in Central and Eastern Europe being placed at the 627th position among the world's 1,000 largest banks.
The Top 1000 World Banks ranking, which has been published for more than half a century now and calculated based on data on banks' capital and assets, is considered one of the most prestigious rankings in the financial world.

According to a research of a market of banking services for individuals conducted by GFK Ukraine in Q4 2015, PrivatBank services are used by 48.4% of banks' clients, and one of the three Ukrainians (39.3% of respondents) named PrivatBank their main bank. Privatbank provides services to 42.6% of the corporate sector clients.
Last year, PrivatBank's consolidated profit increased by 11.4% to UAH 275 million. According to the Bank's financial statements prepared according to IFRS and verified by one of the world's leading audit companies PWC, the capital of PrivatBank banking group in 2015 amounted to UAH 29.045 billion, and assets were estimated at UAH 247.934 billion. The Bank's capital adequacy ratio in 2015 grew from 13.7% to 14.9%, according to the International Financial Reporting Standards, while calculated in accordance with the NBU rules the ratio was 11% (the statutory capital ratio not less than 10%).
