Real wages in Ukraine grow by 7.2% in June

Real wages in June 2016 exceeded the indicator of the previous month by 7.2%, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Compared with June 2015, real wages increased by 17.3%. The average monthly nominal wage of a full-time employee in Ukraine rose by 7.1% in June 2016 from the previous month, to UAH 5,337 (about US$215 at the current forex rate). This value is 3.7 times higher than the minimum wage in Ukraine, which is UAH 1,450, or $58.5.

The highest average wages in June 2016 were recorded in air transport (UAH 26,085, or $1,052), the finance and insurance sectors (UAH 9,985, or $403) and the telecom industry (UAH 9,315, or $375).

The lowest average wage of UAH 2,800, or $113, was recorded in the postal and courier business.

The data is calculated excluding the temporarily-occupied territory of the Russian-annexed Crimea and part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the average wages of a full-time employee in Ukraine increased by 30% in 2015, while the real wages decreased by 10%, compared with 2014.
