Ukraine government expands list of state entities subject to privatization

The government committee on economic, financial and legal policy; development of petroleum and energy complexes; and infrastructure, defense and law enforcement has approved the expansion of a list of state enterprises subject to privatization in 2016-2017 to 330 entities, First Deputy Economy Minister Yulia Kovaliv wrote on Facebook.

The privatization list now includes Kharkiv-based turbine building enterprise Turboatom, Elektrovazhmash, State Food and Grain Corporation, United Mining and Chemical Company and Zaporizhia Titanium and Magnesium Combine.

"We included an additional 126 enterprises ... the total number of entities to be put up for sale in 2016-2017 will be 330," she wrote.

Kovaliv reported that the latest draft of the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution No. 271, which specified the list of entities to be privatized in 2016-2017, included 306 enterprises.

At the same time, 102 entities that have already been sold, are in the process of liquidation or are located in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone have been excluded from the list.

"We expect to receive the government's approval. We remain committed to the idea of a large-scale and transparent privatization process," Kovaliv added.
