President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has instructed the Cabinet to redress distortions in financing of the State Border Guard Service and to increase state support for Ukraine's SBU Security Service, the presidential press service reported.
"We need to correct distortions in financing the State Border Guard Service. We need to increase the amount of financing for the Ukrainian Security Service, which must respond to growing risks of terrorist threats," Poroshenko said during a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council.
The president addressed Chief of SBU Security Service Vasyl Hrytsak asking him to prepare proposals for financing the units engaged in anti-terrorist activities, in particular, Alfa task force.

One needs to squeeze a slave out of themselvesHe has also tasked Interior Minister Arsen Avakov with drafting proposals for priority funding of criminal investigation units, as well as units ensuring the rule of law and effective investigation of crimes, in addition to the patrol police.
Poroshenko has stressed that the real needs of the security sector and defense are much more extensive, but resources are limited. He added that the demand is sharply increasing for a more efficient use of every kopiyka from the state budget.
