EU to allocate EUR 600 mln to Ukraine if necessary laws adopted

The European Union will provide Ukraine with the second tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of EUR 600 million before the end of this year if the required legislative changes are adopted, Vice-President of the European Commission for the Euro and Social Dialogue Valdis Dombrovskis said during a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.

"The fact that the International Monetary Fund has decided to disburse $1 billion to Ukraine is a very positive signal. The European Union is ready to do everything to disburse the second tranche of EUR 600 million to Ukraine this year if Ukraine meets the obligations agreed earlier," he said.

"We expect that next week the Parliament will adopt the necessary decisions, and we will be able to receive European Union support in the framework of macro-financial assistance – more than EUR 600 million," the prime minister said.
