Ukraine's gross foreign debt shrinks to $115 bln

Ukraine's gross foreign debt in Q2, 2016 shrank by 2%, or $2.391 billion, as compared with Q1, 2016, to $114.966 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

In the first half of the current year, Ukraine's gross foreign debt decreased by 3.2%, or $3.763 billion.

In the second quarter, the debt of the sector of general public administration decreased by 0.6%, to $36.582 billion, while the central bank's debt shrank by 13.7%, to $5.494 billion and banks' debt was down by 5.6% to $10.503 billion. Other sectors' debt fell by 1.1% to $53.876 billion. Direct investments (intercompany lending) saw a 0.9% decrease, to $8.511 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's gross foreign debt in Q1, 2016 shrank by 1.2%, or $1.371 billion, as compared with Q4, 2015, to $117.358 billion.

Ukraine's gross foreign debt in 2015 decreased by 6%, or $7.6 billion, to $118.729 billion as compared to the previous year.
