Groysman wants to move to medium-term budget planning

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said it is necessary to move from the annual state budget planning to medium-term planning in the range of two or three years.

"We need to move from the budget for a year to a mid-term horizon. It is necessary to plan for a longer horizon than a year," he said during a meeting with representatives of regional media.

Groysman stressed that this principle had already been laid down in government operations, and now the task of the local authorities was also to use a long-term vision for regional development – both in terms of economic growth as a whole and regarding the more detailed figures. He stressed that the medium-term planning would allow local authorities to quickly adopt local budgets and manage funds.
