The losses of working Ukrainian banks, excluding insolvent financial institutions, in January-August 2016 amounted to UAH 6.596 billion, which is 6.8 times lower year-over-year.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the decrease in losses is due to the reduction of volumes of bank transfers to reserves for active operations by 62%, or UAH 50 billion.
