Ukraine harvests almost 60 mln tonnes of grain

Ukrainian farmers have threshed almost 60 million tonnes of grain, the largest yield was in Vinnytsia, Cherkasky, Kyiv and Khmelnytsky regions, according to the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry.

In particular, 58.4 million tonnes of grain had been harvested from 13.2 million hectares, or 92% of planned areas, as of November 11, the ministry said.

In particular, farmers harvested 19.4 million tonnes of maize for seeds from 3.1 million ha (74% of the planned areas).

In particular, they threshed 191,000 tonnes of buckwheat from 149,000 ha (100% of the planned areas), 190,000 tonnes of millet from 104,000 ha (100%).

Farmers have still been harvesting sunflower seeds, having threshed 13.1 million tonnes from 5.8 million ha (98%).

Further, 3.9 million tonnes of soybeans were threshed from 1.7 million ha (94%), while 11.6 million tonnes of sugar beets were harvested from 244,000 ha (83%).

The highest yield per ha was recorded in Vinnytsia region (6.45 tonnes per ha), Cherkasy region (6.28 tonnes per ha), Kyiv region (5.87 tonnes per ha), and Khmelnytsky region (5.74 tonnes per ha).
