Law on exempting religious organizations' charities from taxation enters into force

The text of the law was published November 21 in the Holos Ukrainy newspaper.

The law "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine concerning the clarification of certain provisions on the taxation of non-profit organizations" stipulates that the costs of religious organizations to provide humanitarian and charitable assistance are not considered as profit distribution and are not taxed.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 6, 2016, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, adopted a draft law which exempts religious organizations' charitable activity from taxation.

The document introduces technical changes to the Tax Code with the view of facilitating the provision of charitable assistance by religious organizations.
