Inflation in Ukraine in November slows to 1.8%

Inflation in Ukraine in November 2016 slowed to 1.8% from October 2016 against 2.8% registered in October 2016 from September 2016, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Inflation in November 2016 from November 2015 slowed to 12.1% against 12.4% in October 2016 year-over-year, it said.

Since the beginning of the year, January through November, consumer prices in Ukraine grew by 11.4%.

The highest increase was registered in the housing and utilities sector where tariffs of hot water and heating went up by 22% in November from October 2016. In the foods segment, prices of milk and creamery butter showed the highest growth – by 7.3% an 6.6%, respectively.

As UNIAN reported earlier, inflation in Ukraine in October 2016 sped up to 2.8% from September 2016 and to 12.4% from October 2015.

The National Bank of Ukraine projected that consumer inflation in Ukraine in 2016 may slow to 12%, while the International Monetary Fund's forecast was 15.1% and the World Bank's projection was up to 15%.
