Ukraine sees 2% rise in GDP in Q3 yoy

Ukraine saw a 2% rise in GDP in the third quarter of 2016 year-over-year, according to an updated report provided by the State Statistics Service.

"Nominal GDP in the third quarter of 2016 was estimated at UAH 664.7 billion. Real GDP was 100.5% compared to the previous quarter and 102% compared to the third quarter of 2015," the State Statistics Service said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the government estimates that economic growth in 2016 will be about 1%. The International Monetary Fund, Ukraine's key lender, projects GDP growth in Ukraine in 2016 at 1.5% amid 15.1% inflation. The World Bank forecasts Ukraine will see its GDP grow by 1% amid 15% inflation.

Experts polled by UNIAN predict gross GDP growth in 2016 at 1% amid 19% inflation.
