Economy Ministry forecasts 3% GDP growth in 2017

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade forecasts GDP growth in Ukraine at 3% in 2017, Minister Stepan Kubiv told a press conference in Kyiv Tuesday.

"We expect GDP growth at 3% next year. We say that there are pre-conditions for such growth," he said.

Stepan Kubiv also noted that the economic growth in 2016 was stimulated by agriculture (production increased by 2.9% in January-October) and industrial production (an increase by 3.7% in January-October).

As UNIAN reported earlier, the state budget for 2017 envisages an increase in GDP of Ukraine at the level of 3%. The International Monetary Fund forecasts GDP growth in Ukraine at 2.5% next year.

The gross domestic product of Ukraine in the third quarter of this year grew by 2% compared with the same period of 2015, according to the updated data of the State Statistics Service.
