Cabinet draws up Ukraine development plan until 2020: economic growth, industrial restoration

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has drawn up a medium-term development plan until 2020, based on economic growth and recovery of the country’s industry.

The draft plan was presented Wednesday, December 28, by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.

"This is a real action plan. Its foundation is economic growth, " said Groysman. "Already this year, we are seeing trends [of economic recovery]. We need to enhance them. And the economic growth is the basis for the recovery of industry and creation of a quality product."

Moreover, key objectives of the government's plan is privatization, the development of the agricultural sector, the development of the mining industry with the ability to fully meet demand for gas and coal of all categories of consumers by 2020, the development of the road sector and logistics capabilities, including construction of highways, port infrastructure, and modernization of Ukrzaliznytsia [Ukrainian Railways], on which the state allocates nearly UAH 16 billion, according to Groysman.

"People need to understand the quality of the new government," Groysman said. "At this, the main priority is human development and the development of our human capital."
