Employers to be fined UAH 320,000 for shadow salaries

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko December 27 signed a law providing for the introduction of a fine in the amount of 100 minimum wages for the payment of salaries "in an envelope" (untaxed).

Under the law, the employers will be obliged to pay a fine of up to three minimum wages in all cases when they hinder the access of the inspectors unless the subject of inspection is a non-signing of labor contracts with the employees and payment of salaries "in an envelope."

The employers will be fined in the amount of 100 times the minimum wage (from January 1, 2017 it will be UAH 320,000) in the case when a state labor inspector’s access is hindered if the check is carried out in order to identify employees with no labor contracts and payment of wages without charging and paying a single social contribution (payment of salaries "in an envelope").

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law drafted by the Cabinet providing for doubling from January 1, 2017 of the minimum wage to UAH 3,200.
