President signs law on moratorium on scheduled inspections of SMBs until 2017

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed into law the bill introducing a moratorium on scheduled inspections of small and medium business until December 31, 2017, according to the presidential press service.

The law expands the rights of entrepreneurs. In particular, the document gives the right to businesses to deny access to the inspectors in case they do not present a relevant approval of the State Regulatory Service.

The document also regulates cases when such state control can be carried out.

Until December 31, 2017 unscheduled inspections will be carried out by state bodies at the written request of a business entity; according to court rulings; in the event of an accident, the victim's death due to an accident that was due to the economic activities of an entity.

The Cabinet of Ministers within six months from the date of the law’s entry into force is to develop and adopt a strategy and a program of state supervision system reform, in particular with regard to the revision of the state control functions with a view to optimizing and reducing the number of the respective state control authorities and the number of their employees.
