Ukraine doubles sales of new buses in past year

Sales of new buses in Ukraine doubled in 2016 from 2015, to 1,293 vehicles, according to the Ukravtoprom Association's press service.

Some 193 buses were sold in December 2016 alone, which was 2.3 times up year-on-year.

Ukravtoprom reported that Russian-based Pavlovo bus factory, which manufactures PAZ buses, accounted for the largest share on the Ukrainian bus market last year, occupying 31%. Sales of PAZ buses soared by almost 11 times in 2016, to 401 vehicles.

Another Ukrainian brand, Ruta, was third, having sold 144 buses, which was 11% down from 2015.

As UNIAN reported earlier, sales of new cars in Ukraine in 2016 increased by 41%, to 65,500 units, compared to 2015, according to Ukravtoprom. In particular, sales of new commercial cars in 2016 grew by 62%, to 8,354 cars.
