Ukraine sees $2.3 bln foreign goods trade deficit

Goods exports from Ukraine in January-November 2016 were 5.9% down, to $32.734 billion year-on-year (y-o-y), while goods imports were 1.8% up to $35.059 billion y-o-y, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine's website.

The foreign trade deficit in Ukraine in January-November 2016 was at $2.324 billion against a $315.5 million surplus y-o-y, the Service reports.

The coverage ratio of exports to imports was 0.93 in January-November 2016 against 1.01 y-o-y. In this period, foreign trade operations were performed with partners from 223 countries.

Goods exports to the EU were 3.1% up, to $12.202 billion y-o-y, and stood at 37.3% of total exports, according to the data released.

Goods export to the Russian Federation were 27.4% down, to $3.2 billion, while goods imports from the Russian Federation decreased by 33.7%, to $4.623 billion.

Read alsoUkraine more than doubles crude oil imports in 2016The State Statistics Service noted that the data were presented excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as a part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the foreign trade deficit in Ukraine in January-October 2016 was $2.089 billion against a $397.1 million surplus y-o-y.
