Wojciech Balczun, CEO of Ukraine's railways giant Ukrzaliznytsia, says the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry has sabotaged and blocked decisions taken by JSC Ukrzaliznytsia's top managers.
"Public accusations in fashion 'it takes one to know one' are totally unacceptable to me. I have come to Ukraine to work for the reform of one of the world's most powerful railways, and not for debates in the derogatory tone. I've faced sabotage, blocking, delays at the high ministerial level. Today we call it the way we see it," he wrote on Facebook on Friday.
Balczun said that all accusations brought against the railways' management of the absence of results are groundless, and successes have become possible due to Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman's support.
"All what has been made at the company – only the blind cannot see positive changes – has become possible thanks to the personal support of Prime Minister Groysman. Results speak for themselves," Balczun said.

Balczun praised this decision on his Facebook page.
However, Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan described the government's decision as "weird." In his words, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, which will control the railways instead of the Infrastructure Ministry, has no "knowledge and skills" to manage Ukrzaliznytsia.
