Ukrainian construction enterprises in 2016 increased the amount of work by 13.1% from 2015, to UAH 70.9 billion, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
The construction of buildings grew by 15.2%, to UAH 36.3 billion. The construction of residential buildings alone increased by 13%, to UAH 17.25 billion, and the construction of commercial buildings rose by 17.4%, to UAH 19.04 billion. However, the construction of civil engineering facilities decreased by 11%, to UAH 35 billion, the service said.

The highest increase in construction works in 2016 was recorded in Vinnytsia region (by 41.2%, to UAH 2.38 billion), Kharkiv region (by 28.8%, to UAH 7.1 billion), and Kyiv region (by 26.7%, to UAH 3.9 billion).
Construction companies in Kyiv in 2016 boosted their works by 23.5%, to UAH 16.311 billion, accounting for 23% of the total construction works in the country.
As UNIAN reported earlier, construction companies in Ukraine reduced the amount of services by 18.8% in January-November 2015 year-over-year, to UAH 47 billion.
