Real wages in Ukraine up 11.6% - State Statistics Service

Real wages in Ukraine in December 2016 were 11.6% higher than in December 2015, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.

At the same time, compared with November 2016, real wages in December 2016 grew by 18.6%.

The average monthly nominal wage of a full-time employee in Ukraine in December 2016 increased by 19.8% compared with November, amounting to UAH 6,475. The figure is four times higher than the level of the minimum wage in Ukraine, which in December 2016 amounted to UAH 1,600.

The State Statistics Service noted that in comparison with December 2015, the average nominal wage in December 2016 increased by 23.8%.

The highest average wages in December were recorded in air transportation services (UAH 27,300), pharmaceutical production (UAH 12,800), financial, insurance, and telecommunications sectors (UAH 11,000).

The data are presented excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation.
