Ukraine's finance minister comments on possible terms of receiving fourth IMF tranche

Ukrainian Finance Ministry expects to receive as early as February the fourth $1 billion tranche from the country's key lender, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, approved in March 2015, Ukraine's Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk told one of TV channels.

"We have almost completed negotiations, and we are now finalizing technical details. We expect to receive the tranche, in February, as I have already said," the minister said.

However, the Ukrainian issue is not included in the agenda of this week’s meetings of the Executive Board, which decides on the allocation of funds, according to the schedule released on the IMF's website.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine has resumed cooperation with the IMF on the four-year Extended Fund Facility program worth $17.5 billion in September 2016, after more than a year's break. Under this program, Ukraine has already received three loan tranches, totaling $7.62 billion.

Support for Ukraine by international financial institutions, particularly the IMF and the G7 governments, remains an important issue to ensure economic stability and effectiveness of the country's reforms.
