Cabinet seeks to increase Ukroboronprom's Supervisory Board to 10-12 members

The Cabinet of Ministers plans to increase the composition of the Supervisory Board of Ukraine's state-owned defense giant Ukroboronprom up to 10-12 people, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman told ICTV channel.

"I believe that the Supervisory Board consisting of two people to deal with the whole Ukroboronprom concern is ridiculous. This would mean that someone was appointed just to divert attention and no results were received. I believe that this issue must be tackled in a more systemic way. We said that this could be 10-12 certified individuals with an impeccable reputation, who have access to classified information," Groysman said, adding that the composition of the Supervisory Board may change in the near future.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in November 2016, Serhiy Pashynskiy was withdrawn from the Supervisory Board by a presidential decree.

State-run Ukroboronprom concern was established in 2010 to ensure effective operations and management of state-owned business entities that develop, manufacture, sell, repair, modernize and scrap weapons, military and special equipment and ammunition, and participate in military and technical cooperation. The concern incorporates over a hundred enterprises of Ukraine's defense industry.
