"We realize that significant amounts of funding are allocated for the military-industrial complex, including for the purchase of arms and military equipment. At the same time, we understand that against the background of military aggression, these resources are insufficient; therefore, we raised bank loans under state guarantees, amounting to nearly UAH 4 billion in 2016," he said at a conference on the development of Ukraine's military-industrial complex.

"This makes it possible to attract additional resources to the defense sector," he added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, over UAH 113 billion was allocated in 2016 to finance the defense and security sector. In 2017, the funding was increased to UAH 129 billion.
