Ukraine raised its imports of natural gas by 59.4% in January 2017, to 1.455 billion cubic meters (bcm), compared with January 2016, according to Ukrtransgaz, operator of Ukraine's gas transport system.
According to Ukrtransgaz, in January, Ukraine imported 1.3 bcm of gas from Slovakia, as well as 0.1 bcm from Hungary and Poland each.
The company said that Ukraine had not imported gas from Russia for 433 days.
