Naftogaz CEO reports UAH 1.5 bln worth of suspicious deals by subsidiary

The internal audit conducted by the National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine revealed suspicious transactions during 2016 worth UAH 1.5 billion made by the company’s subsidiary, the operator of Ukraine’s gas transport system Ukrtrasngaz, according to Andriy Kobolev, Naftogaz CEO.

"In 2015, our subsidiary company [Ukrtransgaz] has been audited. The auditors discovered suspicious transactions worth some UAH 500 million. That audit was the basis for an internal investigation... It should be noted that while we were engaged in the revision of the Statute of Naftogaz [in 2015-2016], according to preliminary estimates by the auditor, the sum of suspicious transactions for 2016 has at least tripled," Kobolev said during a roundtable on corporate management of public companies.
