Ukraine says Crimea, Sevastopol seafarers’ documents invalid

Ukraine has informed the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that any documents (both qualification papers and seafarers' IDs), issued in the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol after July 15, 2014, are invalid, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

These papers "have no legal implications and should be considered fake," reads the report referring to the document the USPA has submitted to IMO Sub-Committee on Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW).

Upon the review, the IMO sub-committee took note of the Ukrainian report.
