Ukraine sees 4.7% economic growth – State Statistics Service

Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 4.7% in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2016 compared to Q4 2015, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Ukraine's GDP growth was at 1.9% in Q4 2016 from Q3 2016, the agency wrote.

Earlier, head of Ukraine's State Statistics Service Ihor Verner announced that the country's GDP in Q4 of 2016 grew by 4.5-4.8% compared to Q4 2015. In his words, the annual industrial growth by 2.4% was due to a better performance of Ukraine's agriculture and construction, as well as the development of commerce and the transport sector.

Earlier, Ukrainian First Deputy Finance Minister Oksana Markarova voiced similar government estimates claiming the Ukraine's GDP grew by 1.8% in 2016.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's GDP increased by 2% in Q3 of 2016 compared to Q3 of 2015, whereas it grew by 0.5% from Q2 2016.
