Local budges in Ukraine received UAH 15.2 billion, or US$556 million, from leasing out state and municipally owned land in 2016, which was 1.5 times up on 2015, according to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
In particular, UAH 13.35 billion in land rent was paid by legal entities, while individuals transferred UAH 1.89 billion to local budgets for using land on a lease, the service told UNIAN.

Under Clause 14.1.147 of Article 14 of the Tax Code, land fee is a national tax, which should be paid in the form of a land tax and land rent for plots of land in state and municipal ownership. Land tax is an obligatory payment charged on owners of land plots and permanent land users. Land rent is an obligatory payment transferred by a lessee to a lessor for the use of land.
