Retail trade in Ukraine grows by 3.1% in Jan

Retail trade in Ukraine grew by 3.1% in January 2017 year-over-year, however, it was 16.4% down from December 2016, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service's website.

Retail turnover increased most of all in Sumy, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv and Kyiv regions – by 9.7%, 8.6%, 7.7%, 7.5%, and 6.7%, respectively.

Retail turnover in the city of Kyiv alone rose by 7.7% during the reporting period, the service said in a statement.

The State Statistics Service noted that the data does not include information from the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone.

As UNIAN reported earlier, retail trade in Ukraine increased by 3.7% in 2016 from 2015 (in comparable prices), to UAH 1.159 trillion, according to the State Statistics Service's estimates.
