Ukraine to reduce electricity generation at TPPs in March

According to the approved forecast balance of electricity in March 2017, Ukraine plans to cut its production at thermal power plants (TPPs) by 10.6% compared with the previously developed forecast balance for 2017, down to 3.212 billion kWh, according to the data published on the website of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.

Generation of electricity at thermal power plants and cogeneration plants will amount to 1.482 billion kWh, reads the report.

At the same time, a 16% growth of electricity generation at hydropower plants is planned, up to 1.062 billion kWh, as well as the growth of generation from alternative sources - by 10.7%, up to 155 million kWh.

According to the report, the forecast export of electricity from the so-called Burshtyn TPP Island will be reduced by 26.7%, down to 220 million kWh.
