Coal reserves at Avdiyivka coking plant enough for 2 weeks – Director

Director of Avdiyivka coking plant Musa Magomedov has said coal reserves at the plant are enough for 13 days of operation, 112 Ukraine reported.

"We have coal for about 13 days with shrunk production," he said, adding that only two out of four coke facilities are still operating.

He noted that at the moment, the situation with central heating in Avdiyivka was under control.

"Active shelling is continuing. I'm not ready to elaborate on the damage, the plant has not yet been hit [directly]. The problem with water has not been solved yet. The Donetsk filtration plant has not reached the necessary capacities," Magomedov said.

Read alsoGroysman calls unacceptable speculation on coal suppliesAs UNIAN reported earlier, on February 18, a 110 kV high-voltage transmission line, Makiyivska 1-Avdiyivka Coking Plant No. 2, was damaged amid fighting, resulting in a power supply disruption to Avdiyivka (home to some 22,000 residents). The water supplies have also been suspended.

On February 19, Chairman of Donetsk regional military and civilian administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky said that gas and heat supplies were ensured, while water was available on schedule.
