New rules for movement of goods in ATO zone coming into force today

Newly-adopted regulations for the movement of goods across the demarcation line in the zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation come into effect Tuesday, March 14.

The decision on the new procedure was adopted by the Cabinet March 1 and published in the official government gazette "Uriadovy Kurier" March 4, 2017. It comes into force 10 days after its publication, namely on March 14.

Read alsoProtests sweep across Ukraine over Kryvy Torets trade blockade dispersal (photo, video)According to the new regulations, those wishing to transport goods across the demarcation line and within the buffer zone are required to coordinate their actions with the Ministry for the Temporary Occupied Territories. At the same time, entrepreneurs and companies have to coordinate such actions with the fiscal service.

At the same time, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers says that it’s only representatives of businesses registered as Ukrainian taxpayers who shall have the right to move goods (mainly foodstuffs and medications).

A Coordination Center and control points along the line of demarcation will be established to control the movement of goods in the ATO zone.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 1, the Cabinet of Ministers, in the framework of the settlement of the situation regarding the blockade of coal supplies from the ATO zone, set up by several political forces in January 2017, approved the SBU-proposed procedure for the movement of goods across the line of demarcation.
