Energy Ministry worsens forecast of electricity production at TPPs

The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has revised toward lowering by 2.9%, to 48.645 billion kWh, the projected volume of electricity generation at thermal power plants (TPPs) in 2017, according to the new Forecast Energy Balance for 2017 of March 3, 2017, which was published on the ministry's website.

According to this document, the forecast for the production of electric power at the thermal power plants and cogeneration plants has been reduced by 3.4%, to 11.301 billion kWh.

In addition, the Ministry of Energy increased by 27.6%, to 9.824 billion kWh, the forecast for the volumes of electricity generation at hydroelectric power plants; and by 1%, to 84.189 billion kWh -- at nuclear power plants.
