Government not to raise in minimum wages in 2017 - Ukraine's PM

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said the minimum wages in Ukraine will grow in accordance with the plan envisaged by the state budget for 2017, and there will be no additional increases as a result of the difficult economic situation in the country.

"From January 1, 2017, we raised the minimum wage by half to UAH 3,200. We raised salaries for teachers by 50%, doctors by 30% in 2017, the budget envisages a 10% rise in minimum social standards, which means that this will be done in 2017 as well," he said during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, real wages in Ukraine in January 2017 were 8.3% lower than in December 2016, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.
