PM Groysman expects to launch free trade between GUAM members in 2017

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has claimed he expects to set up a free trade zone between the GUAM countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Moldova) this year when speaking at the GUAM summit being held in Kyiv on March 27.

"I would like to urge the economy ministries of our countries to be more resolute, to complete and sign all necessary documents in the near future," he said. "Following that, we will be able to launch a full-fledged free trade mechanism between the countries in 2017," the prime minister added.

Read alsoRada ratifies Canada-Ukraine FTAIt should be noted that the summit of member countries of the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Moldova) began in Kyiv Monday, March 27.

The relevant documents are expected to be signed off by the delegations from Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and the Republic of Moldova as a result of the meeting.

As part of the summit, the heads of governments will also participate in the business forum "GUAM – the Territory of Free Trade and Transit."
