Ukrainians pay almost US$74 mln in war tax in past two months

Ukrainians paid almost UAH 2 billion, or $73.7 million, in war tax to the national budget January through February 2017, according to the State Fiscal Service.

"This year, payment of war tax grew by 30.7%, or UAH 465.4 million, compared to the same period of last year. In February alone, war tax payments totaled almost UAH 1.1 billion, which is 31%, or UAH 258.3 million up year-over-year," it said.

Read alsoIMF technical mission on tax policy completes work in UkraineAccording to the State Fiscal Service, this tax is due to be paid by individuals – both residents and nonresidents with revenue in Ukraine, individuals who have income abroad, and local tax agents.

As UNIAN reported earlier, 1.5% tax on war was introduced on August 3, 2014.

Monthly taxable incomes, other taxable revenue from sources in Ukraine and abroad are subject to taxation.
