Rada Chairman Parubiy declares almost US$20,000 in 2016 income

Chairman of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy declared UAH 537,470, or US$19,892, in income for 2016, according to the state register of declarations of persons authorized to perform state or local government functions.

Parubiy's annual salary alone was UAH 188,423, or $6,973, in 2016. He also received reimbursement of expenses related to the performance of Rada member's authority, refunds of hotel room costs and insurance payments totaling almost UAH 349,000, or $12,916. The refunds of hotel costs alone stood at UAH 168,000, or $6,218, according to Part 1 of Article 35 and Part 4 of Article 32 of the Ukrainian law on status of a people's deputy of Ukraine.

The Rada chairman also declared the annual salary of his wife Ulyana who works at Lviv National University named after Ivan Franko. It amounted to UAH 17,888, or $662, in 2016.

Parubiy also mentioned UAH 280,000 and $8,500 in cash in his 2016 declaration.

What is more, Parubiy's wife owns a Lviv-based apartment with an area of 21.6 square meters, as well as a land plot of 1,130 square meters and a 32-square-meter house in Lviv region.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Parubiy reported that his income in 2015 was UAH 347,200, or $12,849.
