Ukraine posts almost US$51 mln in budget surplus in two months

Ukraine posted a surplus of its national budget in January-February 2017 at UAH 1.371 billion, or US$50.7 million, against a UAH 2.403 billion deficit year-over-year, according to the Ukrainian Finance Ministry.

The revenue of the national budget in the two months grew by 1.6 times, to UAH 112.048 billion, while spending increased by 1.5 times, to UAH 110.578 billion.

The consolidated budget in January-February 2017 was also fulfilled with a surplus, which was UAH 17.980 billion, or $666 million. It was 1.8 times up on year-over-year, when this indicator was UAH 9.870 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the deficit of Ukraine's national budget in 2016 was UAH 70.130 billion, or 2.9% of GDP.

The national budget for 2017 foresees revenue at UAH 731 billion and spending is projected at UAH 800 billion. The deficit is capped at 3% of GDP, or UAH 77.5 billion.
