"Our trade was about $750 million, according to 2016 data. This is a good figure, but we have not yet reached the pre-crisis level of our bilateral trade. I think it would be very good if $1 billion could be our goal," Groysman said at a meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart Saulius Skvernelis.

In this regard, the Ukrainian prime minister spoke in favor of greater engagement of the Ukrainian-Lithuanian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, which would help coordinate economic cooperation between the countries.

In turn, Skvernelis noted the high level of interaction between the countries in the business sector, as well as spoke in support of intensification of economic cooperation and more active use of the bilateral potential.

When we see the situation that Ukraine has encountered, protecting its territorial integrity, carrying out the main reforms that allow the country to adhere the pro-European direction of development, we support it in everything," Skvernelis stressed.

The sides also touched upon the issues of deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania in the energy, military and technical, transport, tourism, and education spheres.

As UNIAN reported, Groysman announced earlier that the ratification of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, as well as the introduction of the visa-free regime, which is expected in the near future, would qualitatively improve relationship between Ukraine and Lithuania.
