Deposits in Ukrainian banks on rise to over US$29 bln in March

Deposits in hryvnias in Ukrainian banks in March 2017 grew by 3.4%, to UAH 429.699 billion, or US$15.97 billion, while those in foreign currency (in the U.S. dollar equivalent) also expanded – by 0.4%, to $13.063 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the year, bank deposits in hryvnias have grown by 0.9%, while those foreign currency have shrunk by 1.9%.

The forex loan balance declined by 2.1% in March and by 6.1% since the year's start, to UAH 17.044 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, deposits in hryvnias in Ukrainian banks in 2016 rose by 8.7%, to UAH 425.624 billion, or $15.82 billion, while those in foreign currency (in the U.S. dollar equivalent) shrank by 0.4%, to $13.245 billion.
