Ukroboronprom delivers almost 7,000 units of military equipment to army in 2016

Ukraine's state-run Ukroboronprom Concern, which incorporates major enterprises of the country's military and industrial complex, handed over 6,986 units of military equipment and weapons to the Ukrainian army in 2016, according to the company's press service.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine received 2,139 units of new and modernized equipment, 1,389 pieces of repaired hardware, as well as 3,458 spare parts, accessories, and assembly units, according to the company's infographics.

Read alsoUkroboronprom's net profit grows by 31.2% in 2016In 2016, Ukroboronprom sent 1,011 armored vehicles and artillery weapons, 1,035 pieces of precision weaponry and ammunition, 1,034 pieces of telecoms and electronic warfare equipment, 172 aircraft to the Ukrainian army. Six units of naval equipment were delivered to the Ukrainian Navy, the press service said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukroboronprom in 2015 transferred 2,036 units of military equipment and weapons to the Ukrainian army.

Ukraine's state-run Ukroboronprom Concern was established in 2010 to ensure the effective operation and management of state-run economic entities involved in the development, manufacture, sale, repair, modernization and disposal of weapons, military and special equipment, and ammunition. The companies also participate in military and technical cooperation. The concern comprises over a hundred enterprises of Ukraine's military industrial complex.
