Groysman says 1.5 mln Ukrainian households to receive up to UAH 700 in payments for subsidies saved

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers at today's meeting approved monetization of subsidy savings, which will affect approximately 1.5 million Ukrainian households, according to Ukraine's Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.

"According to our estimates, 1.5 million Ukrainian families that were able to save gas and electricity for heating will in the near future receive up to UAH 700 in cash, which they saved during the heating season," the prime minister said.

"Another promise that I gave will now be fulfilled by the Social Policy Ministry and people will feel it," Groysman added.

As UNIAN reported, on March 18, 2017, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Hennadiy Zubko said that the monetization of subsidies for utility services would be carried out in two stages: first, at the level of enterprises providing services, second, at the level of service consumers.

It is noteworthy that 7.4 million households took advantages of the housing subsidy program in the 2016-2017 heating season, the social policy ministry said.
