Ukraine to appeal against ruling on "Yanukovych's debt" early June

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine intends to appeal in early June the decision of the High Court of London on Russia’s suit against Ukraine over the so-called $3 bln "Yanukovych's debt," the ministry’s press service told UNIAN.

At the same time, the ministry has not provided any details of Ukraine’s upcoming legal moves in the case.

The lawsuit is related to the $3 billion loan taken by the government of ex-president Viktor Yanukovych in the last months in power according to an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It should be recalled that the Kremlin was dissatisfied with a decision taken by the International Monetary Fund to change its rules to allow lending to Ukraine without Kyiv paying back the so-called "Yanukovych debt."
