Monetary base expands by 3.2% in April

Monetary base in Ukraine in April 2017 expanded by 3.2%, to UAH 368.357 billion, or US$13.9 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

At the same time, monetary base has shrunk by 3.5% since the beginning of the year.

Read alsoMonetary base in Ukraine shrinks by almost UAH 25 bln in 2017The volume of cash in circulation outside vaults of private banks and the Treasury grew by 3% in April to UAH 299.410 billion, or $11.31 billion. This indicator has demonstrated a 4.8% decrease since the beginning of the year.

Money supply, or M3, expanded by 1.3% in April, however it has declined by 1.2% since the beginning of the year, to UAH 1.088 trillion, or $41 billion.

As UNIAN reported, monetary base in 2016 was UAH 381.575 billion, or $14.41 billion, which is 13.6% bigger than in 2015.
