Reuters: Ukraine 2017/18 rapeseed exports may jump 60 pct – analyst

Ukraine's export of rapeseed is likely to jump 60 percent to 1.65 million tonnes in the 2017/18 season as the harvest is expected to be about 70 percent larger than in the previous year, analyst UkrAgroConsult said on Tuesday, according to Reuters.

The consultancy said in a statement that Ukraine output could rise to 2.03 million tonnes this year from 1.19 million tonnes in 2016 due to larger sowing area and higher yield, Reuters reported.

Ukraine also exported oilseeds (mainly rapeseed, soybean and sunflower) worth $607 million, vegetable oil shipments were estimated at $1.2 billion, and residues and by-products at $439 million.
