Ukraine sees retail trade growing in first four months

Retail trade in Ukraine in January-April 2017 posted a 5.8% increase year-over-year, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The highest increase in retail trade was recorded in Kirovohrad, Lviv, Poltava, Odesa, and Zhytomyr regions. In particular, Kirovohrad region saw a 9.3% increase, Lviv region boosted retail trade by 9.2%. Retail growth in Poltava region was 8.4%, that in Odesa region and Zhytomyr region was 7.9% and 7.7%, respectively.

The State Statistics Service did not provide data in monetary terms.

As UNIAN reported earlier, retail trade in Ukraine in January-March 2017 grew by 3.1% year-over-year.

Retail trade in Ukraine in 2016 rose by 3.7% from 2015, to UAH 1.159 trillion, or US$44 billion, in comparable prices.
